An autonomous vehicle interior concept based on Scandinavian minimalism. It reinterprets Polestar's design philosophy for an autonomous driving scenario, adapting to different driving modes through a kinematic dashboard and swivel seats, and was validated with a 1:10 foam-board mock-up.
The project targets Millennial parents and their Generation Alpha children during short daily journeys in a 2035 mobility scenario. Free from the demands of driving, the cabin becomes a space that supports communication between parents and children.
To reduce visual complexity in an era of oversized displays, driving information is delivered through an AI voice assistant, a head-up display, and holographic windshield projections. Under Level 4 autonomy the steering wheel becomes a joystick that retracts into the dashboard.
To evaluate the package layout, I translated the digital 3D model into a 1:10 physical foam-board mock-up and used it to refine the digital model, reducing the gap between the virtual model and the actual layout.
